AirStrike 3D is a game that allows the player to blast straight off into full-on, no-holds-barred air combat. The world is under threat from terrorists, and it is the player's job to destroy each and every one of their strongholds. Take control of high-tech military helicopters and follow your commanders' orders to victory!
You have not seen a helicopter game like this one before. AirStrike 3D: Operation W.A.T. is more than just a game. It is action packed, adrenaline filled, apocalyptic survival experiment for the daredevils. Game's awesome 3D engine, combined with adjustable camera views and Hollywood-style special effects provide breathtaking visual experience and make an action hero out of you, rather than just a regular gamer.
Game's graphics and special effects deserve special mentioning. The environment is fully interactive with photo-realistic 3D landscapes. The explosions are huge, spectacular and are very well done. Another great plus is game's advanced particle based system for generation of fire, water, smoke and sparks. With dynamic, realtime shadows, reflections and lighting, you may be tricked into thinking that you are watching a movie on a digital TV set. The game has very modest system requirements and supports external controller devices, such as joystick.
Inside the game's pak1.apk archive is a level not listed in the game and the only one without an entry in levels.txt which is located in the same archive, its filename being level_konion.hsc. Given that it has no enemies, powerups, buildings, or endpoints, it was most likely used as a test level or a template.
The On-Rails scrolling shoot 'em up is one of the genres that's tragically fallen by the wayside in the modern era of PC gaming. While pyrotechnic 2D blasters like Shikigami No Shiro and Ikaruga still command niche appeal on consoles, and semi-3D titles like Zero Gunner fashion the same gameplay into showcases for modern graphics, the PC has been largely bypassed in the new age of shmups.
Thank Jeebus, then, for the likes of AirStrike 3D. Visually reminiscent of EA's Strike series of games, this is a no-nonsense helicopter shooter set across 20 levels of implausibly defended river valleys. (It's weird when games like this put you in a helicopter, because the primary characteristic of a chopper is being able to hover in one place, which the game's forced constant scrolling never enables you to do. But anyway...) Frankly, between that description and the screenshots, there isn't much else Indie Zone can tell you about AirStrike 3D that you can't see for yourself. Don't you miss the days when two screenshots and one sentence could tell you everything you needed to know about something's basic gameplay?
The application requires a minimum of 1024 x 768 as resolution. If you can't access the resolution, try running the game as Administrator. This should fix it as well as the other features in the game. Additionally, browse to the installation directory and look for options.cfg. You can set the desired resolution in that file. It seems the game crashes after you change the resolution.
Start the game let it load. As soon as it starts, press the "esc" button on your keyboard. type in one of the codes below (No Caps!!) and press "Enter" then resume game. Your rank will be "Cheater", but that is what we are a doin' here, LOL. It works, I just installed the game and tested it. Here are the codes with the missing "Godmode" code. P.S. These are the SAME cheat codes for "Air Assault 2". Have fun!
LONDON, UK (December 14, 2004) - GMX Media is today announcing the release of 2 new gameplay movies of the revolutionary voice-controlled military RTS game - Will of Steel. The new movies showcase a variety of gameplay from the levels set in Afghanistan. Will of Steel is set for release at the end of February 2005.
Will of Steel is a modern warfare tactical 3D Real Time Strategy game. As a young Marine officer, William Steel is the son of the highly decorated USMC General Thomas Steel. Players must assume command and responsibility of the battalion at his control and defeat your opposing in forces in hostile locations around the globe.
Throughout the game, the player also strives to improve his/her career. By winning medals and being promoted, various special options are revealed that he/she can use in battle. Special options include:
In Will of Steel, the player has full control of all assigned units, camera, and special options such as: Air Attack, Transport, Special Teams etc, through the use of vocal commands. The player can order unit movements, choose tactics, groups units, and can even choose the types of weapons and stances that the units take. These possibilities will allow the more skilled players to play the game and lead their troops exactly the way they desire while the less skilled players will also be able to manage units while using simpler commands and options.
It is also possible to play the game almost entirely by voice commands alone. The mouse pad can be used to select units and groups of units, to point to the places where commands should be executed, and to select options from one of the menus. Keyboard allows for a quick and convenient way (shortcut) for various commands to be executed.
Special focus is given to voice control because it has never been used in RTS games before. Voice control should help the player to control his/her units much more easily and effectively than by just using the keyboard and mouse pad. Besides that, voice control has the purpose of simulating natural verbal communication between officers and their units. This will add to the realism and will make the player feel as if he was a real-life military commander.
